Life lessons
Chapter 13: Nothing can replace hard work
“The most precious gift that life gives us is the opportunity to do things worth doing,
and the way we are chosen is to work hard.”– Theodore Roosevelt
Reward for hard work
No matter how strong the motivation
and how clear the goal,
your dreams will be difficult to come true without your best efforts,
no investment of time,
effort,
sacrifices,
and even… failed times.
The end result requires a lot of perseverance
and is only for those who are not afraid of challenges.
Enthusiasm in any work helps us:
1. Realize your potential.
The initial small results will motivate
and motivate us to work harder.
When we discover our hidden abilities,
we will feel more confident
– one of the indispensable attitudes of successful people.
Success brings confidence,
and confidence brings many other successes.
2. Coping with life.
Life always forces us to choose
between accepting weakness or courageously facing difficulties.
Always putting ourselves in a state of readiness helps us
to have a positive attitude in our view of any situation.
Whether we succeed or not,
we always feel happy when we try our best.
3. Add more meaning to life.
There is nothing more satisfying than the feeling of accomplishing a goal
and knowing that you did it with all your heart.
We are happy because we have accumulated a meaningful experience in our lives.
Common denominator of success
George, Alec Gallup,
together with journalist William Proctor have conducted the most extensive research
on the subject successfully.
The interview questions of successful people revolved around issues of family happiness,
work capacity,
outlook on life,
beliefs, etc.
The answers all had a common idea throughout that success came to them.
Not by luck or special talent.
They succeed because they want to,
and they do so through persistence
and unwavering determination.
After gathering and studying the data,
the experts came to the conclusion:
“Anyone can be successful!”.
Experts say they’ve found nothing out of the ordinary during their research,
other than a simple truth:
Too many people put themselves in a normal position in this world
when they’re not possesses a lot of potential to rise to even greater heights.
Most people can take the three most important steps of being motivated,
setting goals,
and working hard to achieve success.
Work and play go hand in hand
Although we know that enthusiasm at work is essential for success,
we should not ignore the element of fun,
the purpose of which is to relieve pressure and maintain balance
– considered quite important in life.
Armand Hammer,
a famous capitalist who died at the age of 92,
was once asked how a person of that
age had the strength to constantly travel all over the world
to run his business
and meet with business partners in government officials of many countries.
He replied,
“I love my job. I can’t wait another day to start.
I never wake up with no ideas in mind.
Everything is a challenge for me.”
George Bernard Shaw,
one of the most successful playwrights of all time,
had the same thought when he wrote,
“I want to make the most of my energies at all times
and always find joy in them,
because The harder I work,
the happier I am and the longer I live.”
“When it comes to all the unhappy people in the world,
the most unhappy are those
who can’t find something they want to do.” – Lin Yu-T’ang
